Government That Renders His People Homeless

Have you been homeless before? If you have not, you may find it difficult to understand the predicament this infant, her mum and other families in Otodo Gbame community had been subjected to.

Homelessness is not just an isolated social evil. It is the catalyst and breeding ground for other problems such as marriage difficulties, family breakups, terrorism, stress, unemployment and alcoholism.

If you can run, you must exert your two feet with the speed of light on the ground to avoid being stabbed
and if you cannot, you must be able to swim or else you will be killed by the security officials and thugs who invaded the community.

In a mammoth protest after the community had been invaded, they came out with their children, male and female, and the aged who felt their rights have been infringed, took their grievances to the Governor’s office in Alausa where I took this image.

They cried, wailed and called on the governor for urgent intervention but the governor had remained silent on the issue and the State government denied its involvement in the invasion of the community.
But after the protest, the whole request is still hanging, the people have no where they can call homes anymore, their families are scattered around Lagos.

What exactly is the essence of government if it cannot protect the lives and properties of people who had been ejected from their community?
