How Fela Durotoye Has Touched The Life of a Typical Nigerian Youth More Than All Our Past Presidents

My very first encounter with Mr. Oluwafeolami Fela Durotoye III was in 2009 at the Police College, Ikeja where I went to sell Success Map Magazine, a 16 page magazine I was editing at that time. Because of my status (hawking) at the event, the question of how to meet him and what to tell him became my major fear. "Perhaps, I should not meet him", I said to myself.

I later summoned the courage to meet him. As I got to his front, I presented the magazine to him as a gift and asked him for interview, he flipped through the magazine and asked me a few questions on the details of the magazine and why I was hawking it. After answering him, he encouraged me and gave me his complimentary card to come to his house for the interview. As a young journalist, I was very glad and my fear disappeared immediately.

Five days later, I was in his house for the interview. For more that 2 hours, he espoused the history of his life to me and how he became a sought after great man. After the interview, I knelt down in the center of his living room and asked him to pray for me and he did from the bottom of his heart. Since then, the prayer still works in my life.

Mr. Durotoye is not just a great man, but a living wonderful man. He's a man that has passion for God and compassion for people. People like him don't usually come to this world, they come, perhaps once in a century or millennium. The grace of God upon you will not dry, sir, I wish you a very happy birthday. Your seeds will be great like the Cedar tree in Lebanon. Well done, sir.

You have touched the life of a typical Nigerian youth more than all our past presidents.

Thank you sir,
Seye Joseph
