This is 21st century, a century that is driven by knowledge, information, innovation, creativity and skills. It is the century of strategist mind mapper. The wealth of this century is not in the diamond field in South Africa, not in the crude oil in Nigeria or Saudi Arabia, it can never be found in gold field in Canada, USA and Western Australia but the wealth and possibility of this century can majorly be found in the youngsters.
For corporate organisations, it is good to sponsors music, dance, soccer but the only source that will keep the nation revolving and moving forward is academic and intellectual excellence as this will help us to move from our "non-existing society" to the exact 21st century stage. These organisations expend millions on Naira on Project Fame, Peak Talent Show, Naija Sings, Koko Mansion, Amstel Malta Box Office, Big Brother Nigeria, Gulder Ultimate Search, Star Trek and others while our institution research centers and classrooms are moribund. Our higher institutions are now saturated with hip hop and stars events.
The question is this, where are these programs on our Televisions: Dragon Den, Apprentice Africa, Intern Show, ZAIN African Challenge, The Debaters and many others? These are programs that can open the minds for innovation and new feats in research and development in the cause of building a viable country.
I think we have had fun enough, let's all these corporate organisations think right now to avoid failed society.
